BladeStation and BladePoint P4 blade server BIOS v9
This release of the AMI system BIOS for
the 733X P4 blade server was released on 08/19/2004.
This BIOS release resolves the following issues present in the v6 BIOS (Dated:06/03/2004):
- Corrected S-ATA support to allow it to take precedence in the IDE device detection list (Can now be Primary Master). This was corrected so that Linux kernel versions 2.4.21 and higher could properly detect and use S-ATA drives.
- Corrected SPCR table entry so that when the Remote Access option under the Advanced/ACPI Configuration/Advanced ACPI Configuration CMOS Setup menu is set to disabled, COM2 is released to Windows XP and 2003 Server as a usable com port under HyperTerminal. This is necessary in order to allow CMC firmware update when the blade is running Windows 2003 or Windows XP Pro.
