BladeStation and BladePoint Xeon blade server BIOS v21
This release of the AMI system BIOS for
the 714X Xeon blade server was released on 1/28/2004.
This BIOS release resolves the following
issues present in the v16 BIOS (Dated:09/23/2003):
- Corrects the ACPI table entry that caused a direct attached floppy drive to become unavailable when the second stage of the text portion of Windows Setup starts up in ACPI mode. This problem necessitated an installation procedure requiring Windows to be installed first in MPS mode and then upgraded to ACPI mode, when a 3rd party mass storage driver was required for the OS installation.
- Corrects the ACPI table entry that prevented the on-board LPT port from being detected when the blade was running under an ACPI aware OS like Windows 2000.
